Shallow channel (cross-drain) or raised barrier (packed earth or a thin pole) laid diagonally across the surface of a road to guide water off the road. A ditch, dike, dip, or a combination thereof constructed across tractor roads, skid trails, fire breaks, and roads diagonally, so that water flow is effectively diverted therefrom.
