reach

Section of stream between two specified points. A length of stream, usually more or less uniform with respect to discharge, depth, area, and slope. A relatively homogeneous section of a stream having a repetitious sequence of physical characteristics and habitat types. A regime of hydraulic units whose overall profile is different from another reach.
