Kawasaki's disease
This disease occurs mainly in children, and is characterized by fever that lasts longer than 5 days and which is not responsive to antibiotic treatment, plus the following mucocutaneous manifestations: conjunctivitis mucous membrane changes: cracked lips, strawberry tongue extremity changes: edema, desquamation of tips of the toes and fingers, erythema, rash lymphadenopathy of the neck greater than 1.5 cm A major complication is arteritis and aneurysm formation of the coronary vessels, myocarditis, pericarditis and acute myocardial infarction.
